Abstract

A flame retardant composition exhibiting enhanced properties comprises a polymer such as a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, chlorinated polyethylene or other halogenated polymer, and hydrated alumina. No electrical conductor coated with such a polymeric composition is a particularly important application, e.g. in automotive wiring.
