Abstract

A chuck assembly for dental handpieces includes a tubular chuck (22) formed with a radially-flexible bur-clamping section (22c) provided with an external shoulder (27), and a rotary tube member 15 having a bore in which the chuck is received and defining an internal shoulder (21) engageable with the external shoulder of the bur-clamping section of the chuck during relative axial movement to flex the bur-clamping section inwardly and to hold the same in a constricted condition for securely gripping the mid-portion of the shank of a dental bur. <IMAGE>
