Abstract

A theft-resistant nut (1) is provided with a substantially cylindrical outer surface (2) and single flat (4) or concavity formed thereon. Alternatively, the surface (2) is provided with a plurality of flats (4) or concavities, no two of which are diametrically opposed. A socket 5 having an inner surface 6 matching the outer surface of the nut, e.g. with a flat 7, is used to turn the nut. Preferably the socket has a hexagonal member welded on its rear end, to receive a spanner. <IMAGE>
