Abstract

The circular connector has at least one radially sprung tongue (10) on the contact support part (1), with a tab (11) which engages in cut- outs (47) constructed on the inner surface of the plug-side end part of the gripping sleeve (41), when the retaining nut (20) is located in a position in which it can be rotated freely on the contact support for screwing onto the mating connector. In this manner, unintentional unscrewing of the gripping sleeve from the contact support is prevented. The tab tongue can be withdrawn from the cut-outs of the gripping sleeve by axial movement of the retaining nut (20) on the contact support, the retaining nut being rotationally held on the contact support in the said position, so that it is possible to unscrew and screw up the gripping sleeve on the contact support without any tools. <IMAGE>
