Abstract

To ensure uniform delivery of stock to the headbox of a paper-making machine a tubular element (12) is included intermediate the inlet manifold (11) and the headbox to which element stock is delivered from the manifold through spaced inlet pipes (14) and from which stock is fed to the headbox through spaced delivery pipes (15), the tubular element (12) defining a turbulence chamber (13) within which pressure differentials present in the manifold (11) are dissipated. <IMAGE>
