Abstract

An FM receiver includes a signal conversion circuit (2, 3, 4) operating to produce a first IF signal on a first intermediate frequency. This first IF signal is fed to a resonance circuit (5) turned to the Nth harmonic of this first intermediate frequency. A frequency conversion stage (10) receives the output of the resonance circuit and provides a second IF signal which is demodulated by an FM detector (9). The selection of the Nth harmonic by the resonance circuit (5) has the effect of increasing the frequency deviation of the input to the frequency converter stage so that an improved signal-to-noise ratio can be obtained. <IMAGE>
