Abstract

A protective housing constructed in a fire-damp-proof and/or explosion-proof manner for accommodating electrical equipment e.g. an oscilloscope, the housing including a portion (3) for accommodating such equipment, which is sealed in a gas-tight manner, a pressurized gas system (5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 11, 13), for maintaining an overpressure in said portion (3) when in use, and control means (17, 21, 39), comprising sealed coupling means, which may be magnetic or mechanical, extending between the exterior of said portion (3) and the interior of said portion (3), for enabling manipulation of one or more switching or adjusting controls of the electrical equipment accommodated by said portion (3) when in use. <IMAGE>
