Abstract

A floating hose, for example for transporting crude oil from an oil tanker on the sea to an oil reservoir, having a plurality of hard elastic annular members (7) each T-shaped in section and composed of a base portion (7a) contacting an inner layer (1) of the hose and a disk-shaped portion (7b) integral with the base portion and extending radially therefrom, the hard elastic annular members being spaced from each other in the axial direction of the hose and embedded in a foam layer (4) superimposed about the inner layer. In Fig. 3b (not shown) a single helix is used to replace plural annular members 7. <IMAGE>
