Abstract
A rotor blade for an aircraft with a rotor assembly of hingeless construction has a blade neck portion (2) which affords flap and drag movements by flexure. The rotor blade has the neck portion (2) surrounded by but not connected with a casing 6 forming a continuation of the blade (1). The neck portion is integral with the blade and has the free end secured to a blade root fitting (4) with the free end of the casing secured to the fitting only through a single point connection defined by a bolt (9) aligned with the longitudinal axis of the blade and secured to the casing and fitting by respective lugs (8 and 10). The casing is torsionally rigid so that flap or drag flexure of the blade neck produces rotational movement of the blade about the torsional axis (5). <IMAGE>
