Abstract

Apparatus for collecting windings in a stator includes a collecting tool 12 having collecting members 14 disposed in a ring, a central collecting head, and an aligning head 24 attached to a spindle 48 which can be moved from a retracted position to an alignment position between the members. A device 26 feeds an apertured stator sheet packet 22 into a position adjacent the free ends of the members and the aligning head 24 is moved from its retracted position through the aperture in the sheet packet 22 and into a position to align the stator sheet packet 22 and the ring of members 14. <IMAGE>
