Abstract

A heating rail is provided for a false-twist crimping machine. The rail comprises a heating plate in which a yarn guide groove (13) is provided. The yarn guide groove (13) contains yarn guiding edges (25, 26) arranged perpendicularly to the direction of yarn travel at a plurality of points over its length. The yarn guiding edges define, with the base of the groove, a yarn passage opening through which the yarn travels. The member (22) on which edges (25, 26) are formed is carried by a sealing flap (12) which when hinged open allows the groove to be cleared. <IMAGE>
