Abstract

Apparatus for burying a pipeline or cable in a submerged bed includes an elongated frame constituted by a pair of laterally spaced parallel frame members 1 interconnected by bracing members 6 and for receiving therebetween a pipeline 7 to be buried. Each frame member 1 is constructed from two pipes 4,5. A unit 2,3 at each end of the elongated frame has a tower 13 carrying a vertically adjustable framework mounting a pair of skids 21 located laterally outside the frame members 1. A trailing end unit 3 has its skids located higher up its tower than the skids of a leading end unit 2. Jetting orifices supplied with pressurized water via pipes 28 are provided at spaced locations along the frame members for forming a channel for burying the pipeline as the apparatus is drawn along the submerged bed. <IMAGE>
