Abstract
A method of treating water containing ions of the salts of alkaline and alkaline-earth metals wherein the water is subjected to hardness conversion whereby the cation exchangers are applied in a magnesium form and the calcium ions contained in dissolved form in the water are exchanged for magnesium ions, the cation exchangers being subsequently subjected to regeneration.
