Abstract
A method for improving the quality of tobacco stem by combining steam explosion and anaerobic treatment technology comprises the following steps: steam exploding the tobacco stem with a steam exploder; placing the exploded tobacco stem into a sealed container and adding anaerobic microbe; anaerobic processing by vacuuming or filling inert gas into the container to form an anaerobic environment inside; low temperature dehydrating rapidly after taking out the tobacco stem from the container to control the moisture rate at about 20 to 30 percentage; finally, shredding the dehydrated tobacco stem for cigarette production. The method improves the quality of tobacco stem by reducing the discomfort, such as wood flavor caused by lignin and cellulose.
