Abstract

In a method of recording and/or reproducing an analog signal using a sensor 5, 6 and a recording medium which is movable relative to the sensor, a sampling signal S9 is generated 10 which has a frequency which is variable dependent upon the amount of wow and flutter caused by fluctuations in the speed of the relative motion. A reproduced signal S5 is sampled 11 by means of the sampling signal and a sampled signal is stored in a memory 14. The stored contents of the memory are read out by using a reading signal S15 with a predetermined frequency, thereby to remove from the reproduced signal varying frequency components caused by the wow and flutter. <IMAGE>
