Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the quality of a readout signal on a recording medium and window pulse, by reading out a waveform slice reference voltage as digital information and generating the reference voltage through digital-to-analog conversion. CONSTITUTION:When a head, cylinder and sector address are selected in a readout circuit of a magnetic disc device, the digital information stored in a read-only-memory circuit 26 is read out, which is converted into an analog information at the digital-to-analog conversion circuit 27 at the post stage, allowing to provide suitable positve/negative reference voltages to a window pulse generating circuit 23 for the production of the window pulse. Thus, the deterioration of quality of the readout signal or digital window pulse due to the effect of an extra pulse or the like can be prevented to increase the reliability of the readout information.
