Abstract

A telescopic prop comprising inner and outer tubes 1, 2 is extended by an hydraulic jack 6 arranged between wedge clamps 7, 8 on the tubes 1, 2 respectively. Coarse adjustment is effected by means of a temporary double wedge clamp 3. A second support plate 15 may be held in place by another double wedge clamp 13. <IMAGE>
