Abstract

An improved pneumatically or hydraulically operable piston-cylinder device for creating lifting, drawing or holding forces has its piston rod 26 lockable in any desired position thereby enhancing the safe operation of the device. The piston rod extends through a housing 1 screwed onto the outside of the cylinder 2 and is provided with a locking device 29, 31-40 for securing the rod to the housing after the latter's axial position has been adjusted. A further locking device 18, 20-23 is included to fix the housing to the cylinder, in any desired axial position. <IMAGE>
