Abstract

An illuminated toy construction kit comprises a plurality of illumination modules 12 and a plurality of non-illuminated modules. Each illumination module includes at least one light-emitting element 36, e.g. colour varying LED. Some of the non-illuminated modules may be in the form of couplers 14 which function as mechanical and electrical connectors for releasably interconnecting the illumination modules to form three dimensional structures. Connected illumination modules are lit by a power supply connected to a single illumination module. The couplers allow the rotation of the illumination modules. The illuminated modules preferably have a jack type connection and the couplers a plug type connection.
