Abstract

New halogen containing nitrogen bridgehead compounds of the general formula <IMAGE> wherein R stands for hydrogen or C1-4alkyl, R<1> stands for hydrogen or C1-4alkyl or alkoxy carbonyl containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkoxy group, R<2> is carboxyl or nitrile, Hlg represents halogen and n stands for 0, 1 or 2, and their acid addition salts, can be prepared by introducing the halogen atom with various halogenating agents. The compounds are intermediates in the preparation of pharmaceutically active derivatives.
