Abstract

A base unit for a seat or backrest for a vehicle chair or other chair is made from sheet metal or other sheet material. Said unit is composed from a main member (10) of comparatively complicated shape, adapted to be mounted on a support structure, and at least one supplementary member (11) of simple shape, as compared to the main member (10). The supplementary member (11) is firmly secured to the main member (10) to form at least a portion of the supporting surface of the base unit. <IMAGE>
