Abstract

A method of measuring temperature, in for example an electric cooking apparatus, uses the temperature dependent characteristic of an NTC-resistor or thermistor (10) and includes the steps of charging a capacitance (12) (in a circuit which includes the NTC-resistor (10)) to a first voltage; then discharging the capacitance (12) by way of a first resistor (11) until the voltage in the capacitance (12) has reached a second voltage; and determining the temperature directly from the ratio between the times of charging and discharging. The first resistor (11) is connected in series with the NTC-resistor and the capacitance (12) and the charging current of the latter is determined by the sum of the values of the first and NTC-resistors (11, 10). <IMAGE>
