Abstract

201,091. Ashlock, E. H., Hancock, H. H., Sweetland, W. H., and Rittenhouse, W. Nov. 27, 1922. Massage and vibratory treatment.-A machine for applying vibratory movements to the vertebrµ comprises a frame 1 carrying an electric motor 3 which drives through friction-gearing 3c a crank disc 5; the latter is connected by a link to a plunger 7 constituting the operating member. The contact members 9 at the head of the plunger are removably attacked thereto and may be adjusted in position relative to each other, for which purpose slots 8a, and nuts 9b are provided. The effective stroke of the plunger is varied by means of rollers 10 adjustably mounted in the frame 1. The motor is pivoted to the frame and its friction wheel 3c is held in engagement with the crank disc by means of a spring 3b.
