Abstract

A fenestration assembly comprising PVC frame portions 11 12 13 14 arranged to provide four apertures 31 32 33 34 , the frame portions being interconnected by a welded cruciform joint at a cross-over portion; the assembly further comprising a plastic cover plate 2 attached to the frame portions to cover the cross-over portion so as to hide the welded joint. The cover may have a square central section and have tabs 21 22 23 24 extending out from the edge of the central section, each tab covering part of a frame portion. There may also be notches 26 on the face of the central section. A decorative feature may be applied to the cover, for example a stamp, the appearance dressed by a grinder and buffer to resemble a welded joint or a saltire formed by two intersecting grooves.
