Abstract

Bulb fixing means for light projectors, for example motor vehicle headlamps, are provided by an arrangement comprising a retaining cap 20 which can only be fixed in place on the rear part 21 of the lamp reflector 7 when the bulb 12 is correctly located and orientated in the bulb housing 8. A bayonet type push and twist fixing between the cap 20 and reflector rear part 21 is provided and when the bulb is not correctly positioned an embossment 25 of the cap 20 contacts the bulb base 10 and prevents the bayonet fixing means 23, 24, being fully engaged so that the operator is made aware of the defective fitting of the bulb. <IMAGE>
