Abstract

The invention provides disubstituted piperazines of the general formula: <IMAGE> in which n is 1 or 2, X is oxygen and Y is sulphur or sulphonyl, or X and Y are both sulphur or sulphonyl, and Het is a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical containing 1, 2 or 3 nitrogen and/or sulphur atoms, and which may be substituted by one or more alkyl radicals each having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and acid addition salts of such compounds. The invention also provides processes for preparing the compounds by condensing either <IMAGE> or Hal-Het with <IMAGE> Hal being chlorine or bromine, or by submitting to an alkylating reduction a mixture of <IMAGE> The invention further provides pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds or their physiologically tolerable acid addition salts, especially for the treatment of central nervous system disorders and Parkinson's disease.
