Abstract
The present invention provides a submarine chamber 1 and a method for carrying out repair works in a gas atmosphere, on immersed elongated elements. The chamber according to the invention is flexible and open at its base 2 and comprises at least one neck 3 for the element 4 to go through and for sealingly gripping it, and means for insufflating a gas therein with a view to expanding it thereby constituting a working enclosure and means for keeping its base open and for overcoming the buoyant effect caused by the insufflation of gas into the chamber. <IMAGE>
