Abstract

A therapeutic aid, primarily for exercising the finger joints, consists of a glove (2) in which at the back of each finger and thumb is fitted a spring element (4) pre-formed in the shape of a closed hand, and on the inside of each of the fingers and the thumb is fitted an inflatable tube (5) connected to a single air reservoir (7) arranged to be disposed below the forearm. The hand is unclenched by leaning on the reservoir to cause inflation of the tubes, gripping of an object is effected by the spring elements which return to their pre-formed condition on deflation of the tubes.
