Abstract

A mounting system for use in mounting a conveyor roller (5) in a roller tunnel kiln (1) comprises a pair of guide members (9 and 14) each having a clamping surface of circular transverse cross-section. The guide members (9 and 14) are situated opposite each other to hold clampingly therebetween the conveyor roller (5). The ends of the conveyor roller (5) are clampingly held, in use, by the clamping surfaces of the guide members, each clamping surface and the respective ends of the conveyor roller being co-axial, in use. Such an arrangement can avoid point loading or eccentric loading thereby normally leading to a reduction in mechanical wear on the rollers. <IMAGE>
