Abstract

200,846. Beswick, C. F. Jan. 17, 1922. Envelopes.-An envelope for repeated use is provided with a pad or block of paper strips d with gummed edges. the flap c of the envelope being folded between the two upper strips and sealed by gumming down the upper strip. Each strip is easily removable after use, the envelope being sealed repeatedly by using each of the strips in turn. The strips are sufficiently large to accommodate the address, stamp, and postmark, and the back of the envelope may bear advertisements. The strips may have overlapping ends g or overhanging sides, may be bound to the rear of the envelope beneath a short flap b and above a sheet e gummed to short side-flaps a by means such as wire stitching, and may be perforated near their bound edges. The flap c may be gummed or not and, in the former case, may be used as an ordinary sealing flap after all the strips d have been used.
