Abstract

In a ship's hold an installation for circulating cooled air through the hold includes a planar ventilation component (4) forming a horizontal boundary of the hold for example in the hatch cover (3) of the hold. The ventilation component (4) has air distribution ducts (9), at least one air fan (6), an air cooler (7), and air collecting ducts (8) for the circulation of the air through the hold. On the side facing the interior of the hold each distribution duct (9) is provided with discharge openings (10). The collecting ducts (9) are in communication via apertures (11) with vertical suction ducts (13) which extend into the hold. The discharge openings (10) and the apertures (11) are distributed over the surface of the ventilation component. <IMAGE>
