Abstract
Tube apparatus, particularly reaction apparatus for carrying out catalytic reactions, comprises an annular contact tube bundle through which a recirculated heat transfer medium can be passed in a radial direction in at least one position. To reduce the resistance to flow of the heat transfer medium, the ratio of the outer diameter to the inner diameter of the annular contact tube bundle is </=5:1, preferably </=4:1.
