Abstract
In an electromagnetically operated gear coupling, in which a toothed coupling ring (9) of an armature portion (2) is connected to an armature disc (8) in axially movable and resilient manner, an annular leaf spring (15) is attached at two or more points to the armature disc (8) and is arranged to release the armature disc from the magnet portion (1) rapidly when energising current is switched off. The outer periphery of the leaf spring (15) abuts a bearing surface (19) of the toothed coupling ring (9). The bearing surface (19) is interrupted at regions on radial extensions of the points of attachment of the armature disc and leaf spring. <IMAGE>
