Abstract

A device for assembling partition elements comprises a body 1 of narrow box form such that its side walls 2 are substantially in line with retaining lips 7 for gripping ribs 8 of joint coverings 9, whereby when ribs 8 are engaged between the lips 7 the side walls 2 do not tend to bend and end walls 6 of the body are not subject to bending stresses. The side walls 2 have ribs 5 between which a central panel 15 which may be provided in the partition assembly can be held; and the retaining lips 7 have flanges 17 for effecting, together with ribs 3 on the side walls 2, holding of front and rear panels 16 of the partition assembly. Ribs 4 are also provided for gripping, e.g. a door frame member 13 when it is fixed in the partition. The device may be made of polyamide, and the central hollow of the device may contain a reinforcing member. <IMAGE>
