Abstract
A method and apparatus for controlling dust in an industrial process for example in a stone crushing plant having crushers 6 and screens, comprises an overall casing 4 for completely confining all dust generated by the process. At least one pressure regulator 10, 11 provides communication between the interior and exterior of the casing to maintain the pressure therein at ambient pressure. A filter element within the pressure regulator prevents passage of dust to the exterior but allows ambient atmosphere to pass into or out of the casing. An inspection/maintenance door for the overall casing comprises an elastomeric membrane stretched across a rigid frame and secured thereto by suitable clamping means. The door opening has a smaller area than the door. The opening has an upstanding periphery with which the door can be forced into sealing engagement. Such doors (31) are illustrated in Figure 2 (not shown) above screening elements (21). There is a pressure regulator (33). <IMAGE>
