Abstract

A lock including a lock cylinder (10) with a cylinder core (12) with plate tumblers (20) therein biassed by springs (18) radially outwards and a flat key with a Z-shaped basic profile comprising a middle web from broad side faces of which side portions project, the side portions each having a profiled edge to co-operate with alternate plate tumblers (20) with the profiled edges facing in opposite directions to one another and in the same directions as those in which narrow edge faces of the middle web face. <IMAGE>
