Abstract

The device incorporates essentially two parallel feed belts (2) (3) with a gap between them, a needle (5) reciprocable through the gap, means for feeding an edging strip, e.g. cuff or sliding clasp fastener, to one belt (2) and tensioning the strip, means for positioning the strip on the belt and means (19) (26) engageable with the superimposed edges of the strip if the latter is folded to guide the strip past the needle along with a garment which has been engaged with the other belt. The device may optionally incorporate a strip folding plate (9) and a strip positioning means engageable with the bend of the folded strip. The belt intended to receive the strip may be guided over part of its length at a lower level than the other belt. <IMAGE>
