Abstract

A cladding slab for use in achieving various decorative cladding effects upon a wall or ceiling, comprises a flat basic body 1, of wood, fibre or plastics, rounded on some or all of its edges and/or corners as at 2, and faced with a leather ply 4, the edge margins 5 of which are folded behind the rear face of the body 1 and secured, e.g. by stapling, in a shallow recess around the periphery of the body 1 in said rear face. Rails 6, secured to the rear of the body 1 and which may be T-shaped as shown and extend parallel to the edges of the body 1, enable the slab to be installed, e.g. by brackets 8 or fising claws (not shown) engaging into grooves 7 defined between the rails 6 and the body 1. The grooves 7 may also accommodate fillet strips 10 which bridge the joints between adjacent slabs. <IMAGE>
