Non-reactive steering-mechanism. - Steering- gear in which the axis of the worm-wheel J is adjustable towards the axis of the steering-column E in order to take up wear, is characterised by the fact that the worm-wheel bearing k is mounted in a cover-plate L which is adjustable in its own plane and at right angles to the axis of the steering-column. The cover L is provided with slots t for studs m by which it is secured in position, the cover being moved for adjustment by a stud and nut q after the nuts on the studs m have been slackened. The worm-wheel is held against axial movement by its bearing k and an adjustable set-screw M.
