Abstract

A method and an apparatus for controlling the braking operation of wagon trains is proposed, which, with a traction vehicle, serves to maintain the anti 4 wheel-locking protection in full operation when the traction vehicle is travelling without a trailer but, on the other hand, with a trailer which is not protected against locking or with a locking protection system on the trailer put out of action by a fault, removes the locking protective function on the traction vehicle purely from the steerable forward axle but maintains it with respect to the rear axle or axles. <IMAGE>
