Abstract

A safety helmet having an integral chin guard 4 has a rearwardly inclined frontal opening 3 around the edge of which there is a continuous, similarly inclined trim 6. The opening can be closed by a visor 8 which is also rearwardly inclined similarly to the opening and the trim. The visor 8 sealingly abuts against the trim 6 all around the opening 3 so as to prevent air and water from passing into the opening around the visor. At least at the lower part of the opening 3 the edge and the trim 6 may be set back from the general surface level of the helmet, so that when the visor is in the operative position at least at its lower part it is faired into the helmet. <IMAGE>
