Abstract

A vehicle sunshine roof assembly has a rigid rectangular frame, a pair of guide rails 14, 15 having racks (19, Fig. 6, not shown) along the opposite side edges of the frame, and a bar 25 which extends across the frame, and carries pinions (43) for even movement backwards and forwards along the guides 14, 15 to open and close the hood 24. The hood is retained in any open position by a split brake block 66, operated by a handle 44 via a cam 70. When the hood 24 is closed, turning the handle 44 to its retaining position also engages a bolt 45, with keeper 46 to fasten the bar 25 to the front of the frame 1. <IMAGE>
