Abstract

A mark or tag for the ear of an animal, designed to provide a large area 1 without such area being in direct contact with the ear, is made of a resilient material so that an anchor 4 on the end of a flexible S-shaped member 3 can be pushed through a slit in the ear and resiliently recover shape so that the anchor lies against the ear laterally of the slit, the anchor being integral with a stem 2 shaped to lie against the ear on the opposite side of the same to that contacted by the anchor, and the stem being secured to said large area 1 at its free end spaced from the ear. The S-shaped member allows the space between the stem 1 and anchor 4 to increase as the animal grows. <IMAGE>
