Abstract

A slot valve consists of an extended support device (3) with a valve slot (4), and an extended strip (7) covering the valve slot, which is fitted with separate links (12) for parallel movement on the support (3). Longitudinal movement of the strip (7) causes its movement to and fro, in that direction, parallel to the support (3), between a closed position, in which the strip covers the valve slot (4) in the support (3), and a fully open position.
