Abstract

A fast-rise high current pulsing circuit includes a transistor, means for connecting the load between the collector of the transistor and a direct- current power supply, and a transformer having a first secondary winding connected to carry the base current of the transistor and a second of the said secondary winding connected to carry either the emitter current or the collector current of the transistor so that voltages induced in both secondary windings will cooperate additively to control the development of collector current pulses in the transistor. A battery- powered converter may provide appropriate power supplies to the circuit, e.g. in a hand-held laser illuminator. <IMAGE>
