Abstract

An electrostatographic process for reproducing a color print characterized by the steps of; forming on a recording medium a yellow image using a blue separation of the original; forming a first white image on said recording medium by partial development of the electrostatic image formed from a green separation; forming a magenta image on said first white image by completion of the first partial development; forming a second white image on said recording medium by partial development of the electrostatic image formed from a red separation and forming a cyan image on said second white image by completion of the second partial development. An apparatus for reproducing a color print which comprises: first, second and third electrostatic latent image-forming mechanisms for forming respectively first, second and third electrostatic latent images respectively corresponding to blue, green and red separations of a color print to be reproduced; first, second and third developing mechanisms for developing respectively said first, second and third electrostatic latent images with yellow, magenta and cyan toners; and fourth and fifth developing mechanisms for partially developing respectively said second and third electrostatic latent images with white toner before completing development of these images with the second and third developing mechanisms.
