Abstract

A diesel engine (11) has in an air- filter unit a centrifugal dust collector (12) with a dust-exhausting blower (14). The air delivered by the dust- exhausting blower (14) is fed, when required, as combustion air to a combustion chamber (22), in which case the exhaust gases from the combustion chamber (22) then serve as impelling gas of an injector (24) whose feed duct (25) is connected to the air-intake manifold (28) of the diesel engine (11) which in this way receives preheated combustion air. <IMAGE>
