Abstract

A control valve for controlling the operation of a hydraulic cylinder comprises a check valve 5 disposed between a change-over valve 2 and a cylinder A, a passage 34, 35 for introducing the cylinder holding pressure into the pilot chamber 33 of said check valve 5, and a passage connecting and disconnecting means 26 whereby when the change-over valve 2 is in a neutral or elevating position, the cylinder holding pressure is introduced into said pilot chamber 33 through said passage 34, 35, and when the change-over valve 2 is in a descending position, said passage 34, 35 is shut off and said pilot chamber 33 is connected to a tank. Thus, the tendency of hydraulic fluid to lead past the valve 2 in the neutral position is prevented. <IMAGE>
