Abstract

A flat knitting machine for the transfer of stitches using latch needles (3) without special transfer characteristics, the machine having a movable carriage (6) with a selection member cooperating with needles located in grooves of one needle-bed to distribute them in two cam paths, means (10) for maintaining the latches of the raised needles of one of the two cam paths in the half-open position, and a third cam path to effect the movement of needles (5) of the other bed in order to transfer stitches from needles of the first cam path to the needles of the other bed. <IMAGE>
