Abstract

A stabiliser composition comprises an organic acid anhydride together with at least one of alpha - or beta -pinene, turpentine oil and 2,3-dihydropyran. In a particular use, the compound stabilized is insecticide thiophosphoric acid o-(1-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)-o,o-diethyl ester (triazophos) which is sensitive to moisture and hydrolyses to form diethyl thiophosphoric acid and phenyl triazolone which is not readily soluble causing solid material to be deposited from emulsion concentrates thereof on storing and thereby preventing discharge of the concentrate. Epichlorohydrin has been used for stabilising triazophos emulsion concentrates but has too high a toxicity.
